The Telecrystal summoned me on an errand of mercy this evening; a call for help from Aamedor, another member of my extended super-family. While cruising the streets of Bigburg looking for evil-doers to thwart, his Vanmobile broke down; stranding him and his troupe of crime fighters at Burger Clown. He suspects the Blue Whale may not have tightened the filtration system when changing its lubricant a few days ago. It was a tight fit, but I eventually got all five of them into Vlad The Impala and returned them to their Hall of Glory.
Goldenhair Sedai continues to suffer after effects from the Garlic Hurricane's mind numbing ray. I had hoped she would snap out of it once she published the first chapter of her new tale, but that has not been the case. As for my own epic tale, I published two chapters a couple of days ago in spurts of frantic activity, but some of the lingering effects appear to be bothering me as well. Chapter eight currently consists of one sentence: "Sherlock sat on the couch." I do not think my readers would be satisfied with that, I need to have a little more action.

The Test of Stress continues
The heat wave continues here at the Stronghold of Steel and Fire. The thermal indicator shows 97°F on the exterior in late afternoon. The climate controls are still having trouble keeping the environment comfortable.
Goldenhair Sedai received communication on the Telecrystal this afternoon from her shaman's para-healer who was able to decrypt his scribings. She is now engaged for a session with the shaman next week, effectively quashing our plans to visit with Amanuensis. It's probably just as well, the Crimson Aesculus scheduled her to labor that day and there was no room at the inn for us. We shall make our trek at a later date.
GS is now anxious regarding the upcoming session with her shaman. The para-healer indicated that invasive testing might be on the horizon involving exposure to additional cosmic rays.
I spoke with Ar-Val of Hillview several days ago, promising to drop in to see him and discuss life events. He requested me to contact him via Telecrystal when I was coming, however he must have had his device turned off. I plan to try contacting him again this evening and scheduling a tarriance tomorrow.
It has been one day without an update to my epic tale of Sherlock of London, and already my readership has dwindled. My listing has denigrated to page 6 and a piddling 16 hits versus 99 yesterday. It appears that I need to spend some time at the digital transcriptor and update my loyal fandom. Never fear, I plan to have something ready at break of day tomorrow.

Running Smoothly
Still another chapter uploaded this morning and halfway done with the next! This is going too smoothly. I fear writing myself into a corner, but I haven't spotted any major problems yet. I do have an ultimate resolution in mind, just getting there without a big bobble is the key. I am pleased that my readership has picked up a bit. I'm still far less popular than my life-mate, but I feel that's mostly attributable to the lack of romantic entanglements in my tales. Teen angst just isn't in my repertoire.
Goldenhair Sedai pulled an all-nighter getting started on her new Sherlock tale. I proofed it this morning, designed the cover, and uploaded chapter one for her. I suspect she could do all of that herself; she just wants to make me feel useful. I must admit it is very well written, albeit in her trademark gushy romantic style. I look forward to seeing where she's headed with it.
It's another hot day here, already 97°F outside and the climate controls are struggling to keep the interior of the Stronghold at a warmish 82°.
I received a dispatch from Amanuensis who has just started reading my missives here. She wondered what her super-heroine name would be. Now she knows. She is currently serving an apprenticeship at the Laboratory of Stone, masquerading as a docent and actuary for the Crimson Aesculus. She also writes fan fiction but I haven't seen any updates from her for a few days now. Goldenhair Sedai and I are planning a journey to visit with her next week.

Huzzah!
The curse of the Garlic Hurricane has abated. A new chapter of my tale has been uploaded after spending many hours without sleep bent over my digital transcribing machine. It is my hope that this should sate my devoted fans for a few days, yet stoke the fire of their desire to read more of my prose.
The Goldenhair Sedai has also started work on her new saga, promising to publish the first chapter before retiring.
An aside to those who have an interest in perusing her works, she does not publish under that name. I would tell you her pen name, but she has threatened me with bodily harm should her name ever leak out in my writings.
The Green Monkey has also left our domain and things are getting back to normal around the Stronghold of Steel. At least until one of my other offspring appears at the gates.
We may make another journey to the shaman's lair to determine the results of Goldenhair Sedai's test of stress later today, however she is deeply engaged with her new tale at the moment, so that trek may be put off for a while.
[Update]
Unwilling to venture into the heat, the Goldenhair Sedai used the Telecrystal to speak with the shaman's golem. This time she was told the shaman has gone on a short sabbatical to the distant kingdom of Beaches and Myrtles and shall not return until next week. His consorts have examined the scrolls containing her test of stress results but none can decipher his scrivening. Were good shamans not in short supply in our kingdom I would seriously consider using my awesome Napalm Fart power to roast him alive.

Thwarted Again
My sidekick and I must have been touched by the mind-numbing force of The Garlic Hurricane's brain neutralizer in our last clash of wills. As some of you know, I am chronicling a recent adventure of Sherlock Holmes on fanfiction.net (just search for story "Master of Murder" or author "Doctor Napalm"). For the last several days I have been in a funk, unable to continue the saga. I have four or five scenes in the dark recesses of my mind but have been unable to bring myself to posting them for some reason. The Goldenhair Sedai recently completed her latest memoir and is suffering similar symptoms, unable to begin a new tale.
I suppose part of the reason may be that The Green Monkey and his bride have been visiting with us for the past few days and have been sleeping in my Stronghold of Steel and Fire on the floor in front of my digital transcribing machine. They plan to return to their far away kingdom tomorrow, so perhaps I will be able to resume the transcription of Sherlock's adventure.

The Test of Stress
Today I assisted my sidekick and life partner in a quest for truth. The Goldenhair
Sedai took part in a great test of strength over two weeks ago. While
she may have a strong will, recently her personal shaman detected a
fluctuation in her aura and recommended the test of stress which
included imbibing of dangerous radioactive fluids and exposure to
intense cosmic rays. That was a fortnight ago. In the intervening time
the shaman has failed to dispatch any missives to advise her on the
outcome. Being of strong will, she personally sought out the shaman today
to ascertain the results. Arriving at the shaman's lair around 12:55,
his reception golem advised her that everyone in the shaman's office were having
their noon repast and would not return for another five minutes. Not
wishing to wait among the other rabble, we took a short tour of the
surrounding countryside and returned several minutes later. She was then
advised that, although the shaman's consorts were indeed back from
their repast, the shaman himself would not return for nearly another
hour. Due to the heat of the day and her general exasperation, we
returned to the Stronghold of Steel and Fire, determining to resume our
epic quest in a few days.
